Why am I getting an ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error?

If you’re getting an ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error it means that the URL you’ve entered is pointing to a page that isn’t set up properly.

To be clear, this isn’t a problem you’re having with ClickMagick. This is a problem on the page that you’re telling ClickMagick to redirect to through your Primary URL, split-test URL, or any of the other URLs that you can set in tracking or rotator links.

You can also get this error if you’re trying to access a non-secure page with a secure link.

The easiest way to resolve this error is to enter the problematic URL directly into the address bar of your browser and see what happens. If you still get the error, then you know to focus on the target website and you don’t need to think about ClickMagick at all.

If, after entering the URL directly into the address bar, you don’t get the ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED, then check to see if you’re using a secure custom domain with your tracking link. If you are, then that is almost certainly the problem unless you’ve taken the necessary steps to set up a secure custom domain.
