Can I add my tracking codes using Google Tag Manager?

You sure can. This is technically no different than adding the pixels or tracking code directly to your web pages.

The only problem we’ve seen with Google Tag Manager is that it’s a more complex way of adding your pixels and tracking code, and some users just mess it up. There are many ways to “screw up”, and it’s also easy to end up adding duplicate pixels or codes which can also be a problem.

You’re welcome to use Google Tag Manager. Just double-check that you’ve added everything correctly.

What if my platform isn’t listed above?

It’s usually pretty easy to find instructions for adding tracking code to different page builders and ecommerce platforms by Googling the name of your platform followed by the phrases “tracking pixel”, “tracking code”, or “JavaScript”.

You’ll often find not only written instructions for installing tracking pixels and tracking code using your platform, but you’ll also often find YouTube videos that will walk you through the process.

If you can’t find anything online, contact the support desk for your platform. They know their system inside out and should be able to help you get set up and going quickly.

What if there’s no way to install tracking code on the page?
