How do I track my email opt-in rate?

ClickMagick provides you with two ways to start tracking your opt-in rate. This article explains how to get started with tracking a basic list building funnel.

To get started with tracking your opt-in rate when using Campaigns you are going to need to follow a few steps.

Video Tutorials: Tracking Your Opt-In Rate Using Campaigns

1. Add your Click Tracking Code to your Opt-In Page:

You can get your Click Tracking Code by clicking on the Tools menu in the Campaigns Dashboard, and clicking Website code:

You could also get your Click Tracking Code below:

<script>
    var clickmagick_cmc = {
        uid: '[USERID]',
        hid: '[HID]',
    }
</script>
<script src='//cdn.clkmc.com/cmc.js'></script>

2. Add your Action Conversion Code to your Thank You Page:

You can get your Action Conversion Code by clicking on the Tools menu in the Campaigns Dashboard, and clicking Website code:

You could also get your Conversion Tracking Code below:

<script>
    var clickmagick_cmc = {
        uid: '[USERID]',
        hid: '[HID]',
        cmc_goal: 'a',
        cmc_ref: 'opt-in',
    }
</script>
<script src='//cdn.clkmc.com/cmc.js'></script>

If after someone subscribes to your email list, you send them to an affiliate link, what you will want to do is create a hidden page that redirects to your affiliate link.

To create a hidden page, you’ll need to take this raw HTML code and add it as a page on your website:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <script>
            var clickmagick_cmc = {
                uid: '[USERID]',
                hid: '[HID]',
                cmc_goal: 'a',
                vid: '',
            }
        </script>
        <script src='//cdn.clkmc.com/cmc.js'></script>
        <script>
            setTimeout(function() {
                window.location.replace("https://destinationpage.com?tid=" + clickmagick_cmc.vid);
            }, 1000);
        </script>
    </head>
</html>

Be sure to update the https://destinationpage.com?tid= URL with your affiliate link and affiliate ID parameter which you can get from the Affiliate Link Builder.

The end of your URL you will have a [cmc_vid] value that you’ll need to remove. For example, a ClickBank affiliate link like this:

https://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net?tid=[cmc_vid]

would become this:

https://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net?tid=

Next, just make sure that you send the user to your new redirect page after they opt-in.

3. Create a UTM-Powered Link for your opt-in page using the URL Builder:

All you would do now is start to send traffic to your UTM link and you'll be able to see your opt-in rate on the Campaigns Dashboard.

Note: You do have the option to create a short link. It is optional and is not required in order to track your opt-in rate inside of Campaigns.

To get started with tracking your opt-in rate when using tracking links, you will need to follow a few steps.

1. Add an Action Pixel to your Thank You Page.

You can get your Action Pixel by going to the Tools Menu, hover over Tracking Pixels and click Pixel Builder

If you send someone directly to your affiliate link after they opt-in instead of a thank you page. Create a new tracking link that redirects to your affiliate link:

You also will want to add a ClickMagick Action pixel to the new tracking link:

Once that is done you will want to make sure to edit your opt-in page so when someone subscribes they are sent to your new tracking link.

2. Create a Tracking Link for your Opt-In Page

3. Start using it in your advertising or social media profiles to start tracking your email opt-in rate.

Now when someone clicks on the tracking link for your opt-in page and subscribes, you will be able to see your Action populate in ClickMagick.
